Dr Nicholas Lotz - Plastic Surgeon

Dr Nicholas Lotz is an Australian trained specialist Plastic Surgeon who performs Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr Lotz graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1995. He underwent plastic surgery training and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. He then became the first Plastic Surgeon in Australia to complete further formal training in Maxillofacial Surgery, under the supervision of the Australasian Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.

Dr Lotz is a highly qualified and experienced specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery.  He has extensive surgical training and experience in both cosmetic surgery as well as very complex reconstructive surgery. Dr Lotz is a member of both The Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

During 2004 Dr Lotz was a Craniofacial Fellow at the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne. In 2005 Dr Lotz was awarded the Hugh Johnston Travelling Fellowship by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and he travelled to Paris to work for one year as a Fellow with Dr Francoise Firmin in the field of ear reconstruction and general cosmetic surgery.  He then spent further time in Nantes with Dr Jean-Claude Talmant studying the reconstruction of patients with cleft lip and nose deformities.

Dr Lotz operates at several Private Hospitals on the North Shore and Northern Beaches of Sydney, and is a consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal North Shore Public Hospital. He has private consulting rooms in Mosman and Brookvale .

His particular areas of interest and expertise include ear reconstruction (for microtia and trauma), nose surgery (‘rhinoplasty’), breast augmentation and facial reconstructive and cosmetic surgery .

To expand his knowledge and keep up to date with the latest advances in his field, Dr Lotz regularly attends surgical conferences within Australia and overseas and has attended several conferences as an invited speaker.  Dr Lotz is committed to further developing his skills and the skills of undergraduate medical students and trainee plastic surgeons here in Australia and overseas.  He works at the Royal North Shore Hospital in a teaching capacity and also travels to underprivileged communities abroad to perform ear reconstructive surgery and train local surgeons.
