Skin cancer is a common condition in today’s society. The common skin cancers include:
If detected early these cancers may be treated by simple excision, or sometimes by non-surgical methods. More complicated skin cancers may require a skin graft or a flap (where tissue is moved in from a surrounding area) in order to fill in the defect that is created after the skin cancer is excised. Sometimes these require more than one operation to achieve the best cosmetic result.
